Learning how to work your camera properly without fears can make all the difference in the world for you to have fun while making great images of your family, vacations and especially during the holidays when everyone is gathered for those rare moments. Make those special occasions more special with great memories to share for years to come.

This personalized approach to understanding your camera is for any age photographer. It will include a review of the important features of your camera with flash and a discussion designed for the beginning photographer interested in improving their holiday photographs of family groupings including posing and lighting everyone properly, capturing all the enjoyment of the holiday activities, as well as how to capture the beautiful holiday lights.

We will have a break for lunch and then talk about how to improve composition, how to use the lighting better, use of the pop up flash or shoe mounted flash, choosing the right place to stand and selecting a good place to put your subjects with a simple background.

A valuable part of this workshop will include a critique of student photographs from previous holidays or vacations. You can bring these images on a travel drive or laptop in a file set aside for our workshop; or with actual printed photographs.

Most importantly, Nancy will get you into a comfort zone of clicking through the menu with more confidence so you really understand what you are doing instead of being afraid of making camera adjustments. The workshop groups are small offering lots of one on one attention.

Students should bring: a bag lunch. We will be taking a very short lunch break so there is no time to go out and get anything. Also bring your camera, instruction manual, notebook and sample photographs.
