This unique workshop will provide insights into making digital or film photographs of flowers, still life compositions and any type of small objects. Did you ever dream of creating high quality photographs of flowers and foliage like those that appear on calendars and greeting cards? Experience the fun and excitement of capturing these magical images with the seasonal colors at The Farm. This lecture and hands-on workshop will help you gain confidence as you learn the secrets of looking at and controlling lighting. The lecture will include explanation of the camera, use of flash and other simple equipment used in close up photography, the creative use of aperture and shutter speeds, how to get good composition, and how these all affect the final image. Use of a tripod, different types of flash techniques, and white balance will also be covered. Most importantly, there will be a demonstration on how to control the available light with simple tricks. The evening lecture and discussion will take place in a comfortable seating area provided at The Farm. The hands-on portion of the workshop on the following day will be throughout the 32 acres of The Farm with all its seasonal colors just waiting for us.
