Learn how to incorporate pastel and watercolor into some beautiful images supplied by Nancy. All levels are welcome. Similar to “paint by numbers\,” no painting experience is needed. You will walk away with gorgeous painted images. SUMMARY:Landscape Photography Workshop @ Hunterdon Art Museum
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will explore some of the key issues in the art of landscape photography.  Nancy Ori\, will share her secrets on both technique and esthetics through lecture\, discussions\, and hands-on opportunities in the local landscape. \nDesigned for any level or age of photographer\, there will also be a concentration of information for the advanced beginner. The groups are always small so there is an opportunity for Nancy to tailor information for your needs. She will begin with a lecture to discuss how to compose a picture for more impact\, how to shoot in different lighting and weather conditions\, and how to expose correctly in different types of lighting. If necessary\, there will also be a quick review of the cameras before heading outside to try your hand at all the tips. Rain date is May 31 so please hold both dates open. \nThe goal of this workshop is to gain insight into the world of landscape photography from a seasoned professional who also studied with Ansel Adams. The group will try out the many helpful tips while shooting in and around the museum. The river and area around the famous Clinton Mill will be our focus. The property offers many classic and rustic photographic opportunities. \nThe workshop is being offered through the Hunterdon Art Museum. BYO lunch and comfortable clothing to be outdoors. DESCRIPTION:Learning how to work your new digital camera properly can make all the difference in the world for you to have fun while making great images of your family and vacations\, or stepping up your photography for exhibition or video projects. This beginning workshop for adults and mature teens will cover basic digital camera controls and how they relate to lighting\, getting the correct exposure\, getting good color and composition. \nBring your favorite digital camera\, instruction booklet and any accessories you might have.  The goal of this stress-free workshop is to develop a basic understanding of your camera controls while exploring the key elements of photography.  There will be a balance of technical and creative information with a great handout to follow after the workshop. \n“One of the words I often hear from people is ‘afraid’.  “I was afraid to fiddle with it because I was afraid I would not be able to get it back to the settings that would work for me.”  My major goal for this workshop is to help take the fear out of this technology for you. By the time you leave\, your fingers and brain will feel very comfortable setting up things in the menu\, and most importantly\, you will understand why you are doing that. These actions are not random. I will show you what is important to know for the type of photographs you like to make and how to quickly think through the process. There will be some hands-on opportunities so we can see some results with what you have learned.” \nWe will also talk a lot about composition because even using all the automatic settings\, your pictures can be much better with more thought given to better composition. Bring a sample of some of your photos to share if you can. If you have printed photos\, they would be easier to share.
